Which Korean Karaoke in Hanoi Should You Pick?

Prices are nearly identical. What differs is the district and what each place does well.

You are not choosing on price

Korean-run venues run on fixed pricing, so the total barely moves between them — 1,000,000 VND room charge and 500,000 tip per person, give or take 100,000–200,000. So pick in this order. First, which district — Korean-run venues cluster in My Dinh (Dinh Thon) and Nam Trung Yen, and the closer one to your dinner is the easier night. Second, what that place is good at — wide choice, a quiet table, or room for a group.

My Dinh (Dinh Thon) — the Korean district

Restaurants and massage places sit in the same few streets, so dinner, karaoke and a massage all happen in one district. Easiest choice for a first visit. Bacchus keeps a fixed line-up of 80–100 hostesses, so the choice is the same whenever you go, in a newly moved, clean building with Korean karaoke machines. Valentine sits in the middle of Dinh Thon with the largest turnout, walking distance from the Korean restaurant strip. Han River has around 20 upmarket private rooms with a Korean owner on site — good for company dinners. The Red is the red building at the entrance of Dinh Thon, eight rooms, recently refitted, with a private bathroom in every room. Flamingo has only four rooms on a quiet street — the pick when the point is talking.

Nam Trung Yen — five minutes by car

Quieter than My Dinh, five minutes away by taxi — a good second stop after a My Dinh venue. Gung has no time limit; it stays open while you are there, on a quiet residential street with the owner on site and basic snacks included. Venus is run by a Korean owner who explains extra charges before they happen — small, private and well kept. Cinderella has the most varied line-up and feels closer to a drinking night than a singing one, which is why it often works as a second stop.

Frequently asked questions

First time — what is the safe pick?
My Dinh (Dinh Thon). Restaurants and massage places are in the same streets, so the whole night happens on foot. Bacchus or Valentine are the easiest first visits.
My Dinh or Nam Trung Yen?
Neither is better — they suit different nights. My Dinh keeps dinner, karaoke and massage within walking distance; Nam Trung Yen is quieter and works well as a second stop, five minutes away by taxi.
Do I need to book?
Not required, but rooms fill at peak. Smaller houses — Flamingo has four rooms, The Red eight — are worth booking. Ask us and we will check.
Can I go alone?
Yes, but you take the whole room, so the charge rises by 500,000 to about 2,000,000 total. Two people pay 1,500,000 each, so per head it is cheaper.
