Pick the area first
Most sit along Dinh Thon street in My Dinh; Nam Trung Yen is quieter with less foot traffic. Everything listed here is walkable from the Korean quarter or a few minutes by taxi, so you only move once after dinner.
Korean-run or local: what differs
Korean-run karaoke is fixed-price: 1,000,000 VND per person for the room and drinks, 500,000 VND tip, so the total is known before you sit. Two people come to 1,500,000 VND each. Local venues charge for what you order and often have no Korean. Fixed price means Korean-run; a looser atmosphere means local.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does a night at a Hanoi karaoke cost?
- Korean-run karaoke here is fixed-price. Drinks and room are 1,000,000 VND per person (room, two hours of unlimited soju and beer, basic snacks) and the tip is 500,000 VND per person. Two people come to 1,500,000 VND each. Alone it is 2,000,000 VND total because you take the whole room. Venues vary by 100,000–200,000 VND.
- Will Korean be spoken?
- Most Korean-run karaoke venues have a Korean owner or manager, so booking and paying all happen in Korean. Local venues may need English or gestures.
- Can I pay by card?
- Korean-run karaoke takes cash, card, USD, KRW and bank transfer. Paying in USD or KRW uses that day's rate, so VND or card is usually better.
- What are the opening hours?
- Usually 5pm to 3am. In practice few places have a hard closing time — they stay open while guests are there. If you plan to go late, ask us and we will check that night.
- Do I need to book?
- On weekends or in a group it is better to tell us first — if the rooms fill up you wait. Send us the number of people and we will work out the total before you go. It costs you nothing extra.
