Galbiroman is a Korean charcoal barbecue restaurant in the My Dinh Korean district of Hanoi. It is run by a Korean owner, and the meat goes over real charcoal rather than gas — you get the smoke you remember from Korea.

The signature is the charcoal pork galbi buffet at 299,000 VND per person. There is also a 499,000 VND course that adds beef and seafood, so you can pick by budget.

Beyond pork galbi there is samgyeopsal, marinated short rib, beef brisket and flat iron, so you can try several cuts in one sitting.

The side dishes are good. At a grill house, weak banchan gets boring fast — not a problem here.

It is not only meat. Yukhoe bibimbap, yukgaejang, beef tripe soup, brisket doenjang stew, kimchi stew and cold noodles are all on the menu, so a friend who does not eat grilled meat will still be fine.

The building runs to three floors. Korean restaurants in Hanoi are often cramped and split large groups across tables; here a company dinner or a family gathering can sit together.

It sits in the middle of the My Dinh Korean district, easy to find and easy to move on from afterwards.
