There is one shirt room in Hanoi, and this is it.

Hobak brought the format to the My Dinh Korean town and is still the only place in Hanoi running it properly. It is where you go when every karaoke room has started to feel the same.

The rooms look like a club, not a karaoke bar. One wall is a single LED screen and the floor is a screen too, with wave-shaped neon and moving heads overhead. The photos say it better than we can. There are ten rooms.

One price: 3,500,000 VND per person, fixed. Tips are already included, and soju, beer and food are unlimited. Ninety minutes in the room, and nothing is added afterwards. The usual worry at a karaoke bar is not knowing the final number; here the number is settled before you walk in.

Booking only — you cannot just turn up. A set number of staff work each night, so seats are arranged in advance. For a daytime visit, tell us two or three hours ahead.

You can still sing: TJ and Kumyoung machines can be set up on request.

Finding it — the sign does not say Hobak. The building reads CUN CUN LOUNGE & BAR in gold with a crown, and underneath, C9 Five Star · Dinh Thon. Go in there. Myeongwol and Sinsa 86 are thirty seconds away on foot; Sun Spa, D Salon and Su Sauna about a minute.
